Walk to School Week
May signals the start of charity Living Streets’ National Walking Month, a celebration of the benefits this simple act brings. On this occasion, we are encouraging pupils and their parents to take part in the Walk to School Week (21-25 May).
In preparation for this event, our pupils will be talking about the benefits of walking with their teachers, and our Year 4s have even created some impressive posters to raise awareness around school!
Top results in Kangourou maths competition
Each year, thousands of pupils across the world take part in the Kangourou maths competition. The results for the Kangourou 2018 are in and we could not be more proud of our pupils’ achievements!
All pupils from Year 4 to Year 10 took part in the competition, and, of those, 25% were ranked amongst the top 5% worldwide.
Congratulations to all for participating, and a special congratulations to Elliot (Year 6), ranked #1 out of 32,152 in his year group!

Escape games, orienteering, museum visits, Jeannine Manuel “African Cup of Nations” and British Science Week challenges… It wasn’t all hard work for our students during this year’s Spring Exam Week.
Following their exam sessions in the morning, our Middle School pupils enjoyed some well-deserved relaxing activities in the afternoons. We were very impressed to see how enthusiastic and engaged they remained throughout the week!
CM1s visit Sotheby’s
On the 28th February, Sotheby’s sold Picasso’s Femme au béret et à la robe quadrillée for a record £50 million. Thanks to an invitation from a parent, our Year 5 pupils were able to go see the incredible works of art sold at Sotheby’s that evening, hours before the historic sale. Pupils also had the opportunity to admire Picasso’s Matador, as well as works by Giacometti, Magritte, and Derain.
World Book Day 2018

We celebrated World Book Day at school yesterday!
On this occasion, pupils and teachers alike came to school dressed up as their favourite book characters and took part in a series of reading related activities. Highlights of the day included peer-reading sessions and the costume parade.
The day was also marked by the launch of the Readathon, a friendly competition which encourages children to read as many books as possible to raise money for Room to Read, a charity which supports literacy and girls’ education.
