Homework Hassle
By Eleonore
Children at our school have had a debate, on the 6th of March, about whether they should have to do homework or not.
The students of our school have had a civilised discussion about if the teachers should give less homework, or even, stop giving pupils homework completely.
The students asked for this debate after complaining that some of their teachers were giving them too much homework.
Here we have two students telling us what they think. ‘I think we shouldn’t have to do homework, because teachers always tell us to have a good night’s sleep and a good rest, but I often complain to my mum that we couldn’t do that if we were up doing homework. Or worrying about it.’
However, this pupil thinks otherwise: ‘I think we should do homework because if, for example, we didn’t understand the exercise at school, then we can always redo the exercise at home, or just do it again to deepen our understanding.’
What do you think? Should your children be doing more and more homework, or even doing any homework at all?
