Budding Year 8 engineers win first round of Faraday Challenge!
Congratulations to our Year 8 pupils who came first of their pool at the Faraday Challenge. The judges were particularly impressed by their creativity, coding and presentation skills; we could not be any prouder!
The Faraday Challenge Days are organised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) with the purpose of giving students the opportunity to research, design and make prototype solutions to genuinely tough engineering problems. This year, our pupils were asked to develop prototypes that would improve the performance of the Land Rover BAR sailing team for the America’s Cup.
The winning team engineered a device that could measure the straightness of the boat’s mast and suggest appropriate amendments for the sailors.
Congratulations to all twelve participants for this fantastic achievement!
