Ecole Jeannine Manuel announces its first Charity Dinner
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our very first Charity Dinner at the National History Museum on Saturday 11th May 2019.
Halloween at school!
As All Hallows Eve approaches, our fantastic Parents Association have decorated the hallways with creepy cobwebs, black spiders and jack-o’-lanterns to welcome our pupils in the scariest (and cutest) costumes to celebrate Halloween and the start of half term. Whilst the ghouls, vampires and unicorns roamed the schools’ corridors, a coven of witchy parents delivered trick or treats to each classroom on the spooky occasion.
Happy Halloween and enjoy your holiday!
Independent Schools’ Show
Come and speak to us at the Independent Schools Show on the 10th and 11th November. Information packs will be available to browse or take home and members of the École Jeannine Manuel leadership team will be there to answer your questions. Don’t forget to pick up one of our popular red tote bags!
Location: Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park, SW8 4NW
Times: Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 10:30 am to 4:30 pm

Year 8s take a trip to Burnham Beeches
On October 10th, our Year 8 pupils visited Burnham Beeches Wood in Buckinghamshire as part of their study of geology in science. They explored the woodlands and observed geological soil layering, ancient sites of clay mining for bricks, quagmires and areas where sinkholes exist!
In addition, pupils learned about pollarding trees and how the woods are being managed and preserved for future generations. They took soil samples at different locations around the trail and these will be analysed back in school for their pH, texture, and profile. This information will then be related to the dominant trees found growing in each sampled area.
A challenging and exciting day rooted in fun!

In Primary School, the pass rate was 100%, of which 30% obtained full marks. In Middle School, 96% of pupils passed the exam, a similar result to that obtained by pupils in our Parisian sister school.
Congratulations to all for their hard work – 很棒!
Walk to School Week
May signals the start of charity Living Streets’ National Walking Month, a celebration of the benefits this simple act brings. On this occasion, we are encouraging pupils and their parents to take part in the Walk to School Week (21-25 May).
In preparation for this event, our pupils will be talking about the benefits of walking with their teachers, and our Year 4s have even created some impressive posters to raise awareness around school!
Top results in Kangourou maths competition
Each year, thousands of pupils across the world take part in the Kangourou maths competition. The results for the Kangourou 2018 are in and we could not be more proud of our pupils’ achievements!
All pupils from Year 4 to Year 10 took part in the competition, and, of those, 25% were ranked amongst the top 5% worldwide.

Reaffirming its tradition of excellence, Ecole Jeannine Manuel in Paris has been ranked best high school in France by l’Internaute (alongside the Lycée Henri IV) for the sixth year in a row and second best high school according to the Figaro (between Henri IV and Louis-Le-Grand).
