Understanding the different parts of a stage
Understanding the different roles of theatre practitioners
Understanding different types of stage and why and how these vary
Applying appropriate technical vocabulary to discussion of staging
Understanding the role of stage directions in scripts
Performing using a script to guide their actions and movements
TOPICS
(6ème): Mime and Melodrama – Physical Theatre – Greek Theatre – Comedy and Commedia del’Arte – Improvisation – Stanislavsky and working with scripts.

General principles: Active, physical methods including group and pair work.
Assessment
Informally throughout the course through end of lesson performances and dialogue with teacher and students during lessons.

Use of modelling to demonstrate techniques
Use of watching example videos for homework to enable students to see professionals in action
Group and pair work also allows students to share and test ideas before presenting a final response
