In the wake of the Manchester attack that struck young adolescents, the entire community of École Jeannine Manuel in London expresses its deepest sympathies to the victims, the families and the friends of those who have been affected.
Once again, terror strikes. This time, the victims of this murderous indecency are in the United Kingdom. We stand by their side as they stood next to our French community repeatedly over the past three years. Our thoughts are with the young victims, their families and friends who are experiencing unspeakable grief.
This tragedy compels us, now more than ever, to live out our School’s mission of international understanding. It is education that brings us together in pursuit of Jeannine Manuel’s vision; it is education alone that can eradicate ignorance, extremism and the murderous savagery that binds them together, for, as the UNESCO constitution declares, “since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed.”
